Description

Grade II+. Substantial house 1933-4. Designed by Mendelsohn and Chermayeff. Monolithic reinforced concrete construction. International modern idiom. 2 storeys. Entrance facade of two main parts, that to left set forward and linked to right hand part by quadrant curve containing staircase. Entrance to left portion recessed within square headed opening. Original glazed smallpaned door, metal glazing bars. To left of entrance on each floor a seven-light ribbon window with concrete mullions & metal casements. 4-light picture window to upper floor of quadrant curve. To right of this ground floor largely blind; upper floor with 10-light ribbon window; concrete mullions, metal casements, coped parapet. Side and rear elevations with similar treatment and also of architectural interest. Interior retains all its original fitted furniture, panelling and other fitments.
