Description
Grade II. 1693, altered C18. Red and grey brick, old tile roof with one 2-light leaded box dormer. Two storeys and attic. 4 double-hung sashes in reveals to each floor with cills and flat gauged arches. No 44 on left has painted cement plinth and late C18 round headed doorway with semi-circular fanlight and six fielded panel door. No 46 has flat arched doorway with rectangular fanlight and 6 flush panel door, 2 upper panels now glass. In centre of first floor a terracotta plaque elliptically arched with spandrel panels and carved keyblock carrying cartouche with achievement, surmounted by shell ornament. Plaque is supported by consoles and moulded cornice with swag in between, with pulvinated frieze cornice and segmental pediment above. Panel bears raised letters HWK and date 1693 (B1).
