Dimensions - Length 97mm.
SOCKETED AXE FOUND BY MR W W CROXFORD, GREAT HAMPDEN, C.1959, IN GRAVEL SOIL C.3FT. DOWN (SKETCH MAP SHOWS LOCATION) (B1).
SP 865 023 A single-looped bronze socketed axe of waisted type was dug up in about 1959 by W W Croxford at Great Hampden. The loop was broken off by the finder.
Length of axe: 97mm (ILLUS)(B2).


Mr W W Croxford was unable to give further siting information. He retains the axe (B3).
