The first documented evidence for Over's Farm certainly dates from the mid-16th century but is probably much earlier in origin. The present standing building and some of the outbuildingsdate to the 17th century. Over's Farm is clearly marked in all 17th century maps and labelled as such in one map. It may well have been part of Lillifee hamlet. The layout of the main buildings remained relatively unchanged from 1763 except for sheds and outbuildings which increased by 1803 but by 1813 many had disappeared. The layout and use of the land immediately around this farm changed with an orchard and a meadow appearing in part of what was in 1803 'Four Acres' field (B2). [NB No source is given for the 16th century document. The earliest map cited for Over's Farm is Rocque's map of 1761 and the Waller estate map of 1763 - not clear what 17th century maps are referred to, or the evidence for dating the existing buildings.]
