Description

Grade II+. C18. 3 storeys and cellar. Brick with moulded plinth and brick strings at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Moulded brick eaves, cornice. Old tile roof. 3 windows, central blocked, on upper floors, the top centre probably always a panel. 2 windows on ground floor. All windows with moulded frames. 1st floor windows segmental-headed, and 2nd floor 2-light casements. 8-panel door to right hand in doorcase of fluted pilasters, with small Ionic caps separate from but at top of pilasters, bold cut wood console brackets and moulded flat hood with panelled soffit. Panelled frieze over door and between brackets. Some C17 features at back of house. Interior may be of interest. All the listed buildings on the south-west side of Temple Street form a group (B1).
The three-storey No 26 has first-floor windows with segment-heads and a pilastered doorcase with semi-detached Ionic capitals. Behind, this too is timbeframed (B2).
