Description

Grade II. C18, three storeys, painted stucco, moulded cornice and blocking course. All windows have moulded stucco architrave. Slate roof (small slates). 3 windows on upper floors. Late C19 shop front to ground floor. Nos 5 to 9 (odd) and The Kings Head Hotel form a group (B1).
Visit by AVDC Conservation Officer during building alterations, records remains of 16th or 17th century timber framing in side wall between no 7 and no 5 (CAS 12022)(B2).
Impact assessment by KDK Archaeology concluded that no. 7 retains elements of early post-medieval work in the roof and cellar, although considerable loss of historic fabric had occurred during stripping out of the interior in late 2014. See report for detail (B3).
