Description

A MATURINE HOUSE, SAID BY LELAND (1545) TO HAVE ONCE STOOD ON THE SITE OF THE PRESENT PREBENDAL HOUSE (B2).
THE MATURINE ORDER WAS ESTABLISHED IN ENGLAND IN 1224 (B3); THIS HOUSE DID NOT EXIST BY THE TIME OF THE DISSOLUTION (B2).
PRECEEDED BY SAXON NUNNERY? NGR TO PREBENDAL HOUSE (CASS 04091).
