Roofspace L1, which is part of number 27 West Street, comprises an early post-medieval roof with threaded butt purlins. It has simple splayed and pegged scarf joists with lath and plaster on the inside face of the truss. The truss and most of the rafters are original, although some replacement and repair has been noted. Structural fatigue was also observed in the re-used timber above the stair that gives access to the roofspace (B3).
