Description
Grade II. House, now offices. Early C19, with C20 alterations. Gauged red brick, slate roof, blue brick end stacks. Double-depth plan. 3-storey, 3-window range. Front of high quality rubbed brick is articulated by 4 pilaster strips, which define its three bays. Central 6-panel door with panelled reveals and moulded wood surrounds with thin pilasters and cornice. Blank windows to first and second floor centre, 12-pane sash windows to ground and 1st floors and 9-pane sashes to 2nd floor, all with gauged brick, flat-arched heads. Plinth and moulded gauged brick eaves. 2-storey wing to rear right with plain-tile roof and casement windows, one with small leaded panes. INTERIOR: elegant small staircase rising in confined space round narrow well in continuous curved flights to 1st and 2nd floors. Stair has ramped and wreathed mahogany handrail, stick balusters and scrolled tread ends (B1).
