Description

Grade II. Pair of houses, formerly including shops. Early-mid C18, altered early C19 and C20. Rendered with incised masonry patterns, C20 plain-tile roof and brick ridge stack. 2-unit plans. 2-storey, 5-window range. Three C20 doors to centre with overlights, that to centre with ornamental glazing bars, and pilastered wood surrounds, flanked by canted, former shop, bay windows, all under continuous fascia with moulded cornice. Bays have glazing bars dividing windows into 20 panes to front in 4 tiers of 5 with 4 to sides. 12-pane sash windows to ground floor far left and right and to 1st floor, except for central blank 1st-floor window. Windows to left of centre (to No.60) have raised rendered surrounds, that to ground floor joined to storey band at level of window head. Those to right of centre (to No.59) have rendered heads. Rendered plinth 4 flat-roofed roof dormer windows with 2-light casements (B1).
