Description

Grade II. [No 52] House. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Unpainted render with incised masonry patterns over red brick and uncoursed rubble, C20 ridged tile roof and brick end stack. 2-unit plan. 3-storey, 2-window range. Central panelled door in pegged wood surround with chamfered wood lintel and straight hood on shaped brackets. C20 window to ground floor left, 16-pane sash window to ground floor right. 12-pane sash windows to 1st floor and 9-pane sashes to 2nd floor. Rendered quoins and stepped eaves cornice.
[No 53] House. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Unpainted render with incised masonry patterns over red brick and uncoursed limestone rubble. C20 ridged tile roof and brick end stacks. 3 storeys; 3:3:1 windows, with blanks to ground and first floors. Central 4-panel door with overlight, panelled reveals and entablature with deep enriched cyma reversa and cornice hood. A pair of blank windows to ground and 1st floor right. Second floor has three 9-pane sashes, first floor has 28-pane tripartite sash to left and two 16-pane sashes and ground floor has a 28-pane tripartite sash. Plinth and end pilaster strips to ground and 1st floors, 1st- and 2nd-floor storey bands and moulded wooden eaves (B1).
