Description

Grade II. Row of 6 cottages. Mid-late C18, with C19 and C20 alterations. Of uncoursed limestone rubble, front wall of red brick in Flemish bond with some flared headers, painted to No.55, plain-tile roofs, and brick ridge and end stacks. 2-unit plans. 2-storey, 12-window range. 6-panel, part-glazed doors to Nos 56 & 57, otherwise C20 doors, all with flat-arched heads, except for cambered arched head to door of No.58. 3- and 4-light windows to ground floor with flat-arched, those to No.59 with fascias and those to No.60 with small central sashes. 3-light casement windows to 1st floor, except for those to Nos 59 & 60 which have small central sashes, all with flat-arched heads. Plinth, rendered to Nos 55 & 56. Various C19 and C20 extensions to rear. INTERIOR: No.55 has chamfered spine beams to rooms either side of former central passage leading from front door to back. Old stud partitions (B1).
