Description

Grade II. House. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond on ground floor of coursed, squared limestone, slate roof and brick end stacks. 2-unit plan. 4-storey, 3-window range. 3-light leaded casement window to ground floor left, 3-light casement to ground floor right, both with wood lintel. A flight of 11 stone steps leads to central front door at 1st-floor level. Steps have iron balustrades with standards bearing vase finials. 6-panel door has fanlight with intersecting glazing bars, panelled reveals and round-arched head. Curved, hanging bay window to 1st floor left, rendered below windows with incised masonry patterns. 12-pane sash window to 1st floor right with painted, rendered head. Similar windows to 2nd floor. 9-pane sashes to 3rd floor. Ground floor forms plinth. Upper floors have giant blank arches either side of central bay with segmental-arched heads with key blocks. Blank window to 1st floor centre and blank window to 3rd floor above with round-arched head with key block. Narrow, 1-bay 2-storey extensions to right with lean-to slate roofs. Garden elevation has 3 storeys with round-arched heads to ground- and 1st-floor windows, that to 1st floor centre blank. Central 2-light casement window to 2nd floor flanked by 3-light casements, all with wood lintels. INTERIOR: kitchen to ground floor which is below ground to garden side and houses cellar (B1).
