Description

Grade II. Formerly the Horse and Groom Inn. Variegated brick with some later brickwork to front. Tiled roof behind parapet. 2 storeys and attics, 1 box casement dormer, formerly 2. 6 C19 sash windows. Door surround under pediment on brackets. On left modern shop window and elliptical carriage arch; 2 plain central windows; on right early to mid C19 shop bay window with glazing bars under frieze and cornice continued over half glazed door. Later brick north east wing. Back elevation has C16 wood mullioned and transomed casement window, with leaded lights, to 1st floor. Nos 1 to 7 High Street (consecutive) form a group (B1).
