Description

Grade II. House. Late C18 with older origins, altered C19. Red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers, plain-tile roof, and brick end stack. 2 storeys and attic; 1-window range. House stands at corner of Church Street and Manor Street. Front to Manor Street has part-glazed door to far left with moulded wood surround and rendered head with incised key block, and 3-light casement window to ground and 1st floor, that to ground floor with flat-arched head, that to 1st with wood lintel. Cellar window below with cambered arched head. Gable end to Church Street has 4-panel door approached by 1 stone step with moulded wood surround and straight hood extending over canted hanging bay window immediately to right with 16 panes to front, 4 panes to sides. Blank window to left of door with flat-arched head. 2-light leaded casement window to 1st floor and similar window to attic, with brick lintels. The corner is rounded. Entrance bay to Manor Street is rendered with incised masonry patterns and an arch brace extends from top of entrance bay to wall plate. INTERIOR: formerly timber-framed. Stone cellar with stop-chamfered spine beam. Roof has one tier of wind-braced purlins (B1).
