Description
Grade II. Row of 4 houses, originally 8 cottages. Mid-late C18, altered early C19 and later. Estate housing for the Marquess of Buckingham. Slight timber frame with brick infill, part whitewashed, part with rubble stone plinth. W. side rebuilt in whitewashed brick. Tiled E. pitch, slate W. pitch, each house with central brick chimney. Houses are staggered up slight hill. 2 storeys, each house with 4 small bays. W. side has paired leaded casements, those to ground floor with segmental heads. Each original cottage had board door with gabled timber and render porch of c. 1870, only 4 of which remain. Other doors altered C20. Nos.2 has projecting C20 conservatory. E. side has C20 wooden casements and doors (B1).
