Description

EXCAV BY HEDGERLEY HIST SOC IN AREA OF HUMMOCKY GROUND WHERE MAGNETOMETER & INFRA-RED APS SHOWED ANOMALIES. 9 TRENCHES, 2.75M SQ OPENED. DENSE LAYER OF BUILDING DEBRIS, FLINT WALL FOUNDATIONS,TILE & MORTAR FLOOR FRAGS ETC FOUND, INDICATING EARLY C14 BUILDING ENCLOSED BY MOAT (EXCAVATION REPORT, SLIDES)(B10-18).
