Description

Grade II. House. Dated RG 1700 on stone plaque with oval panel. Coursed rubble stone with thin brick quoins, bonded window surrounds and band courses above plinth and at first floor level. Hipped tile roof, symmetrical chimneys with grouped shafts of thin brick. Double pile. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Outer bays have 3-light leaded casements with transoms. Similar 2-light to centre of first floor. Upper windows have old leading, lower windows renewed C20. 2-light leaded casements in hipped dormers. Altered central entrance with C20 door, lean-to lead hood, and flanking single lights. Right side has small C20 single storey bay. C19 single-storey extensions to rear. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beams and 2 C18 3-panel bolection doors to first floor. Central hall has early C18 staircase with elegant turned balusters, moulded handrail and turned ball finials and pendants. Door to far side of hall has good wooden doorcase with shouldered architrave, the shoulders on small carved scroll brackets (B1).
