Description
Grade II. Now a house, former function unknown. Late C16 - early C17, altered. Thin brick, mostly in English bond, with blue diapers. Rubble stone plinth with chamfered coping. Old tile roof, external C20 brick chimneys to each gable. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Gable ends have 2-light stone mullion windows with moulded stone cornices, the lower window at W end altered to doorway, the lower window at E end blocked by chimney. Some leaded lights. W gable also has similar single light to attic. S front, to garden, has central door with 4-centred stone arch. All windows to N and S inserted C19-C20, with sashes and wooden casements. Interior: ground floor originally a single space with stop-chamfered cross beams; massive tie beams, those to gable walls cut with ends resting on moulded stone corbels, those between bays with centres cut into form of 4-centred arches; altered C17 queen strut trusses (B1).
