POSSIBLE THAT BURNHAM ABBEY BUILT ON SITE OF BURNHAM MANOR HOUSE & MOAT BELONGS TO MANORIAL PHASE. NUNS MOVED IN ONLY 2 MONTHS AFTER FOUNDATION, SUGGESTING BUILDINGS PRESENT. ARRANGEMENT OF ABBEY BUILDINGS WITH CHURCH TO S UNUSUAL: FRATER, REREDORTER, GARDEROBE ETC TO N, USING MOAT AS DRAIN (B22).
