Description

Grade II. House. Late C16- early C17, altered. N. front has heavy timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and ground floor walls to right. Left end wall, rear wall of left bay and ground floor walls to rear are of coursed rubble stone. Left gable has timber truss with herringbone infill. C20 concrete tile roof, C17 brick chimney between left bays. 2 storeys and cellar, 3 bays. Left bay has C17 3-light leaded casement with ovolo wooden mullions to ground floor. Centre bay has 3-light barred wooden casements, that to ground floor with flush panelled shutters. Similar casement to first floor of right bay over small C20 window. Single barred wooden casement between left bays over board door with rectangular fanlight. Extension to right, formerly an outbuilding, is of whitewashed brick with one storey and 2 bays of C20 3-light metal casements. Left gable of original house has 2 3-light windows with moulded stone mullions and surrounds, the lower window with blocked lights, and small window to cellar. Rear of left bay has similar 2-light stone windows and an irregular rubble stone arch over door to left. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beams. Rubble stone garden wall attached to S.E. corner.
