Watching brief carried out in June 2019 by KDK Archaeology during repairs to the NE corner of the building recorded evidence that the timber frame of the north gable had been close studded throughout and provided details of the brick in-fill and rubblestone plinth. Historic building recording of the interior of the building suggests that the original 17th century structure was a single bay cottage with a ladder giving access to the first floor, possible extended to the south later in the 17th or in the 18th century, with a north rear wing added in the late 17th or 18th century and a SW rear wing added in the 19th century. See report for detail (B2).
