Description
Grade II. House. C17, altered. Timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and rubble stone plinth, the plinth part rendered. Right wall is also of coursed rubble stone. Tiled roof, rebuilt brick chimneys to right gable and between left bays, raised eaves. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Right bays have irregular C20 metal casements and C20 door in wooden frame between. Over door is a moulded brick pediment, brought from elsewhere, and a small lead shield with crown and rosette dated 1603. Left bay has garage doors and double half-glazed doors with flanking single lights to first floor. Interior has re-used timbers, one heavily moulded and stopped. RCHM II p. 330 Mon. 25 (B1).
