Grade II+. House with barn range attached to east. House is early C17 with later alterations. Right wall and part of rear have timber frame with heavy braces, thin brick infill, and rubble stone plinth. Infill in right wall is laid in herringbone pattern. Front of projecting bay to right is rebuilt in brick C19, remainder rendered. Old tile roof hipped over projection. Fine rusticated chimney of thin brick between left bays, small chimney to left; 2 C17 and C18 external brick stacks to right side, that to front with brick diaper in recessed panel. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Left bay has pair of C20 2-light wooden casements to each main floor. Centre bay has one similar casement to ground floor and cross casement in gabled semi-dormer above. 4-panelled door and single casement in tiled lean-to porch to right of centre bay, with small gabled dormer window to staircase above. Right bay has 3-light leaded casements and painted stone panel dated 1649, re-set. Lean-to extensions to rear. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beams and some good C17 and C18 fittings. C17 2-storey staircase with turned wooden balusters, moulded handrail, closed string with bosses, and ball finials to newel posts. Room to rear right has C17 panelling and stone fireplace of uncertain date. Room to front right has early-mid C18 panelling and contemporary overmantel with pilasters flanking painted panel. Similar overmantel in room to first floor left which also has remains of C17 coved ceiling with ornamental plaster panels. Central ground floor room has wide fireplace, slightly angled, with moulded wooden mantel-piece. Large wind- braces in roof. Railings to front of house are early C19, of cast iron, with moulded spearhead finials. Barn is attached to right of house by timber-framed gateway. Barn is mostly of coursed rubble stone with band of timber framing and herringbone brickwork below eaves. Hipped tiled roof. Eaves rest on 4 carved wooden brackets dated 1687. Right side of barn altered with concrete lintel over wide cart entry. C18 barn attached to rear is of 3 bays with weatherboard cladding on timber frame, and corrugated iron roof.
