Grade II. Hotel, formerly farmhouse. C16 or C17, timber framed, refronted in brick C18. Half-hipped old tiled roof with central chimney, panelled parapet. 2 storeys and attic, stone floor bands cut back, quoins replaced in brick. 6 bay front, with two 1st floor and one ground floor blank windows. Flat gauged brick arches with stone keyblocks. 4 sashes in flush frames to 1st floor, 4 to ground floor, the 2 flanking door to RH tripartite windows. Wide 6-panel door in 2nd bay from RH in wooden doorcase with panelled frieze, bold cut brackets and flat moulded hood, approached by 4 stone steps. Central lead rainwater pipe with shaped head. Flank elevation has exposed timber framing with brick infill and 3-light attic casement. RCHM I p.309 MON.28 (B1).

Vine Tree Farm, on the North side of Back Street is two-storeyed, built of timber and brick ca.1600, and refronted with brick and stone probably in the C18th. At the East end, the brick filling has been partly renewed, the foundations are of flint and there is a half-hipped gable. A similar gable at the West end shows above the adjoining house. The original plan was L-shaped with wings extending to the North and East, and probably a staircase wing in the angle between them. Modern additions have been built at the rear. Condition - Good (B2).
