Description

DARK FILLED CIRCLE VISIBLE ON AP,570M NNW OF LODGE HILL FARM(B1).A LARGE HOLE - TOO BIG & IRREGULAR FOR,SAY,A POND BARROW.ALMOST CERTAINLY A MARL PIT(B2). Field probably RB site in light of metal detector finds (see :01:000 for details) (B3-4).

Visited by J Evans (Field Archaeologist Bucks County Museum) in late 1970, who described it as a great hole - hardly a pond barrow. (B7)

A ploughed down chalk pit, c30.0m in diameter, with chalk debris around the rim. Not an antiquity. (B8)
