Old Tile House is a brick and stone building with tiled roof, standing in parkland and built by Sir Marmaduke Dayrell. It is of two storeys with attics, and has the arms of the Dayrell family and a date of 1693 over the porch. There were additions to the rear in the 19th century, and the house became derelict in the mid-20th century. In the subsequent rennovation, almost all the internal features were removed, including the staircase, which was also re-sited, and all windows and doors replaced. There is an extensive brick arched cellar, which also bears the date 1693 (B2).
Buildings report held at NMR (B3).
