Description

Grade II. House. Dated Jas. Hawkins 1830 on brick. Built pale chequer brick, hipped slate roof, deep boarded eaves, symmetrical brick chimneys. Double pile. 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays. Barred horizontal sliding sash windows with cambered heads. N front has central half-glazed door with similar window above and another in hipped dormer. Left bay is irregular with low 3-light horizontal sash window to diary, and 2-light sashes above to mezzanine and first floor. Single storey extension to the right 4-light sash, 3 board doors, one to poultry racks, and smaller board door for ducks to right. Farmhouse for model farm, now Pitstone Farm Museum. Included for group value (B1).
Described as part of a model farm dating from 1830 (B2).
