Description

Grade II. Row of 3 houses, formerly 4 cottages. Dated MDCCCLX(?)1 on central stone plaque with Rothschild mottoes. By George Devey. Red brick with blue and yellow diapers. Left bay has upper storey of whitewashed roughcast, and is jettied to front on brackets, with ornamental tile-hanging to gable. Other bays have first floor brick band-course, the right bay with half-timbered gable, the second bay with large similar eaves-line dormer. Tiled roofs, dentil bargeboards, 3 brick chimneys, the outer chimneys with flanking diagonal shafts. Picturesquely asymmetrical. 1 ½ - 2 storeys, 4 bays. Left bay projects, right bay is slightly advanced. Barred wooden casements, mostly 3-light, some lights without glazing bars. Ground floor windows have shallow triangular relieving arches. Third bay has hipped eaves-line dormer with C20 casements,and single light in blocked doorway. Gabled porch to left side, lean-to porch in angle between left bays, both with board doors. Later gabled brick porch to right side (B1).
