Description
Grade II. 3 cottages. Dated H de R 1876 on plaques. Red brick ground floor, whitewashed render and half-timbering to jettied first floor. Hipped tile roof with some fishscale patterning, symmetrical rebuilt brick chimneys. 2 storeys, 3 bays with narrow flanking porches. Outer bays gabled and slightly projecting with canted bay windows to ground floor and 3-light wooden casements above. Date plaques with flanking herringbone panels below upper windows. Centre bay has 3-light transomed casement to left of half-glazed door, both openings with cambered heads, and C20 4-light eaves - breaking casement to first floor. Porches have single lights to front and entries to sides. Similar to Nos 1, 2 and 3. Part of a group of picturesque estate cottages built for Hannah de Rothschild in style influenced by work of George Devey at Ascott (B1).
