Description

Grade II. House. 2 C17 bays at right-angles to road possibly once L-plan, extended to south and refronted late C18, altered in 1830, and extended to N.W. C20. C17 bays have timber framing with brick infill exposed on part of right return wall. Front is covered with whitewashed render and has old tile roof, hipped to right with small gablet. Brick chimneys. Rear is of blue header brick with red brick dressings, first floor band course and moulded plinth and eaves. 2 storeys, 3-bay front with 4-pane sash windows. 6-panelled door to right of centre bay has wooden doorframe and open pediment hood on cut brackets. Early C20 gabled wing set back to right. Rear has irregular altered casements. Interior: C17 part has timber framing, central fireplace in line with entry and original partly- moulded window frame in N. wall. S. wing has good early C19 staircase with reeded handrail, and drawing room of same date with reeded surrounds to door and window frames and to plaster ceiling panels (B1).
