SP 663122 "Vast quantities" of Roman pottery and tile were found circa 1966 by Mr R Chapman (now of 18A Park Town, Oxford) in the field on the E. side of Hurcumdean Barn. Some of the finds are thought to have been retained by him and others sent to the Bucks Co Museum. The site of the finds is reputed to have shown a clear grid pattern under crop. M E Farley in December 1973 found fragments of flue and roof tile on the site as well as Roman potsherds and 3 possible Saxon sherds, now in Bucks Co Museum, Acc Nos 101-103:74. (B4, B2, and B5).

The area is partly under pasture and partly under kale; there is no indication of buildings or 'grid pattern' either on the ground or APs (B6).
