Description

Grade II. House, now divided into 3 units Cl8, but altered and enlarged c1830. Further alterations c1920. Rubblestone, cement rendered to main block, coursed to rear and to west wing (Little Scotsgrove). Stone dressings to main block. Old tile roofs. 2 storeys plus dormers. East or entrance front. 7 bays. Central porch in Gothick style with arcade of 3 pointed arches, groin vaults and crenellated parapet. All windows stone mullioned with Tudor arched heads. All 2-light, except right hand bays 3-light hipped dormers to 3 right hand bays. South or garden front gabled right bay with 4-light ground floor window, 3-light to first. Then 4 bays with irregular stone framed windows. French doors to right. Bay 2 with modern coped gable. West elevation has C18 brick work patching and upper gable. West wing has gabled bays each end and hipped dormers. North elevation colourwashed stone with brick dressings and sashes. Interior has a number of Gothick moulded stone fireplaces (B1).
