Description

Grade II. House now subdivided. C17 and C18. Timber-framed with brick infill, rear or north elevation plastered infill. Ground floor part colourwashed roughcast on rubble plinth. East part witchert colourwashed and roughcast 2 storeys; 2 bays of timber framing gable end to road, 2 bays of witchert. The roof slightly higher on witchert part which encloses large C17 old brick stack with inglenooks to each house and stairs to No.35 within. Street gable elevation jettied with 2-light casement and curved braces. Irregular casements and on south pantiled pentice with door at east. Stack between right hand bays and left hand bays as well as C17 centre stack. Witchert bays have at left small staircase window and beyond 2 bays of modern casements and C18 brick east gable above brick band. North entrance and lean to (No.37). Interior. No.35 chamfered fireplace lintel to inglenook with above 3 plaster plaques, early C17, the centre one arabesque foliage, the outer ones heads in roundels, the left one a soldier. Chamfered and stopped spine beams. RCHM I. 182. MON.34 (B1).
