Description
Grade II. House. Circa 1600. Timber framed with some colourwashed brick and some colourwashed plastered infill. Rendered and colourwashed rubblestone plinth. Lower part of east gable elevation rubblestone. Old tile roofs. 3 bays and 2 storeys with lower colourwashed and rendered gable extension at west and lean to along west, both of two storeys. Modern door in south front. Modern leaded casements mainly of 2-lights, but some of 3. North elevation has board door in centre bay, staircase window between east bays. To west bay large lateral rubblestone stack with 2 diagonally set brick flues on north elevation. Rebuilt C17 stack between right hand bays on south roof slope. Interior: Lateral stack has fireplace with chamfered and cambered lintels and stone jamb. Stack between right hand bays has ground floor inglenook with chamfered lintel and jambs. Heavy doorframe between left bays is chamfered and stopped. RCHM I. 112. MON.9 (B1).
