Description

Grade II. House and shop. C17, altered C18 and later with altered shop extension to right, extended C20. Left bay has timber frame with whitewashed brick infill. Remainder of house is of similar brick with plinth and band course. Thatch roof half-hipped to left. Large chimney stack of thin brick between right-hand bays, external brick chimney to left. 1½ storeys, 3 bays and lobby entry. Ground floor has large canted bay window to left and 2 3-light barred woodem- casements. First floor has 2 3-light casements to centre in thatch, one metal. Half-glazed door between right-hand bays in C20 gabled porch. Shop is of whitewashed brick and plastic weatherboard with slate roof. 1½ storeys, 2 bays. Shop front with arched lights, dormer to left with 4 barred wooden casements. RCHM II p 205 MON 16 (B1).
