Description

Grade II. House, at one time a row of cottages. Late C17. Timber frame with whitewashed brick infill. Thatched roof, brick chimney to gables and between right-hand bays. 1 ½ storeys, 3 main bays. Irregular C20 leaded casements to ground floor, 2-light in thatch of left-hand bays. Small paired barred casement to stairs between left-hand bays, C20 stable door between right-hand casements with small narrow casement to left. Pheonix fire insurance plaque to centre. Lean-to at left is whitewashed brick with board door and single casement (B1).
AVDC Conservation team notes that the provisional listing description includes Wood End - suggesting a small hamlet consisting with Wood End Farm and some timber framed cottages. Close by there is a late timber-framed structure, with its thatch covered in iron sheeting.
