Description

A LABOURER DIGGING ON LEE COMMON FOUND A ROMAN IMAGE, THE FIGURE OF AN OLD MAN WITH ARMS EXTENDED. IT HAS A CROWN ON ITS HEAD ORNAMENTED WITH PEARLS. ITS VESTMENT IS INLAID WITH PURPLE. APPEARS TO BE OF COPPER & WASHED WITH GOLD . IT IS 8-10 INS LONG & WELL PROPORTIONED (B1).
