Description

IN THE C13 LINLEY/KINGSTON LILLY HAD ITS OWN CHAPEL; WALLINGFORD PRIORY HELD 2 VIRGATES OF LAND THERE TO SUPPORT A CHANTRY IN THE CHAPEL THERE. LINLEY CHAPEL IS MENTIONED IN 1279. SITE OF LINLEY HAS NOT BEEN FOUND BUT PROBABLY ON THE HILL NEAR GURDONS FARM (B1). NGR TO LINGARSFIELD (=LINLEY?)(B3).
