A post-medieval brick works is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located about 250 metres N of Wardens Farm and centred at SP 71221 29945, the irregularly shaped brick and tile making site covers an area about 21,671 square metres. The brick field is recorded on the 1880 dated 1st Edition OS map as comprising at that time two kilns as well as 2 buildings, probably processing sheds. It remains a brick field in 1899, but by 1923 it no longer seems to be an operational extraction site, when it is recorded as an ‘Old Clay Pit’. The buildings appear to have been demolished and the site covered in secondary woodland (6-10).
