IN 1519 ROBERT KEYE OBTAINED LICENCE TO BUILD A CHAPEL IN HONOUR OF THE VIRGIN MARY & ST JOHN BAPTIST NEAR THE SPRING CALLED THE MAIDENS WELL. (Citing Lincoln Episcopal Register Memo Wolsey & Atwater, Folio 88) (B1).
