Description

THE MOAT-HOUSE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE FORMERLY BEEN HAM HALL (B1).
OF THE MOAT ONLY FRAGMENTS REMAIN (B3).
SITE EXISTS AS SHOWN ON OS MAPS WITH MOAT FARM IN CENTRE. MOAT NOT COMPLETE (B5).

A fragmentary moat at Moat Farm (B3).

Moat Farmhouse, 16th century, altered early 19th century. Grade III (B8).

Parts of three sides of the moat survive, the western arm virtually dry, the southern and eastern arms water-filled and overgrown with reeds. The southern arm measures 20.0m x 8.0m overall, the eastern arm 30.0m x 7.0m.
Published 25" survey revised. Moat Farmhouse was extensively altered in the 19th century but retains some features of the 16th century, and is of minor importance (B9).
