STONE RUBBED: NAME 'BOSWELL' (COMMON GYPSY NAME) THEN SAID TO BE VISIBLE (B4). STONE REPOSITIONED: NO TRACE OF BURIAL. DATE 1641 VISIBLE. DUG INTO UNDISTURBED CLAY (B5). 1640 REGISTER OF ST MARY'S CHURCH, AYLESBURY RECORDS THAT ON MARCH 20, EDWARD BOZWELL, 'KING OF THE GYPSIES', TYNIMERE SMYTH & EDWARD SMITH, GYPSIES, WERE EXECUTED. GRAVESTONE, DATED TO 'FIRST DAY OF 1641', 5 DAYS LATER, BEARS NAME 'BOZWELL' & PERHAPS MARKS SITE OF BURIAL? (B6). REFERENCE TO THE 'KING OF THE GYPSEYS', KNOWN AS 'JEMMY' AND HIS WIFE 'FAIR NANCY', IN OXFORDSHIRE, 'IN THE LANES AND COMMONS ABOUT BICESTER'. (B7)
