Description

FOLLOWING FIND OF LARGE NO OF LATE C3 ROMAN COINS IN PLOUGHSOIL & A GROUP OF 3 URNS BY MR C CONWAY, BCM EXCAVATED 20 X 20M AREA AROUND URNS. 4TH URN FOUND. BM BELIEVED COINS FROM A DISPERSED HOARD OF SEVERAL 1000 COINS. COINS OBVIOUSLY DELIBERATELY HIDDEN. NO RB FEATURES FOUND NEARBY (FULL REPORT)(B1, B4).
Further coins found by H F Crane in 1994 whilst metal-detecting and reported to BCM in 1995 (B3).
