Description

A CHALYBEATE SPRING, BRETCH WELL (B1).
'BRETCH WELL' AT NGR(B2).
PERHAPS THE 'WELL OF MINERALL WATERS FROM IRON WITHIN 2 MILES OF HORWOOD' VISITED BY CELIA FIENNES IN 1694. THE WELL WAS FORMERLY LOCALLY FAMOUS. ITS SITE IS MARKED BY A STONE PLINTH IN THE FRONT GARDEN OF A MODERN HOUSE (B3-4).
