ACCOUNT OF PRESUMED CHALK WELL. OPENING OF 4-5FT DIAM, WIDENING TO 10-12FT. DEPTH 42FT. SIDES ARE CHALK AFTER ABOUT 10FT DEPTH. BRICKS AT BOTTOM OF SHAFT INDICATE SHAFT MAY HAVE BEEN BRICK-LINED. PROBABLY C19 (B1).
