Description

'Ebenezer Chapel (Primitive Methodist)', 'Burial Ground' at NGR (B1).
Baptist Chapel, brick stuccoed, built 1842. Used later by Primitive Methodists, now disused (B2).
Baptist Church formed 24th March 1842. Chapel became a Board School in January 1876, before being used by the Primitive Methodists from 1903. In 1909 the building was sold and used for various religious purposes, passing to the Salvation Army in 1916 (B3).
Now Salvation Army hall (B4).
On the south-western side of Moreton Road, close to the junction with the High Street is the Salvation Army Hall. Constructed in 1842 as a Baptist Chapel with money raised from public subscription, the chapel was closed in 1876 and the building was used as a Board School. In 1903 the Primitive Methodists aquired the building and it became known as the Ebenezer Chapel. The building changed hands again in 1909 before becoming the property of the Salvation Army in 1916. A local building of note within the Conservation Area of Buckingham (B5).
