'BAPTIST CHAPEL (GENERAL)', 'BURIAL GROUND', CENTRED AT NGR (BI1). PARTICULAR BAPTIST MEETING ESTABLISHED C.1701 AND A MEETING-HOUSE ERECTED 1707, SUPERCEDED IN 1804-5 BY PRESENT BUILDING, EXTENDED TO REAR AND INTERNALLY REARRANGED 1814. FLINT WALLS, BRICK DRESSINGS, HIPPED SLATE ROOF. (FURTHER DETAIL)(BI2)
The interior has early 19th century galleries around three sides with roms below the NE gallery and a former baptistery below the opposite gallery. The tops of the side galleries are carved with large numerals 1-16 and the NW gallery had square slots for music stands (more)(B3)
