A medieval moated site is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a close adjacent Tythe Gardens (formerly the site of Tithe Farm) in Stewkley village and centred at SP 85065 25959, a slightly trapezoidal earthwork platform about 21 metres square is enclosed by a ditch that varies in width between 3.7 and 8.3 metres wide. In the E facing corner the ditch extends slightly further to the NE by 6 metres. Though still extant, dense tree canopy growth on the site means that the moat is not visible on aerial photographs taken in 2019 (6-7).

A sub-rectangular homestead moat cut into sloping ground. It measures overall c 52.0m NE/SW by c 34.0m transversely with arms between 8.0m and 14.0 m wide. The SW arms is retained by a low bay and the NE arm partially dry. No trace of occupation debris was found. The whole feature has been re-cut and landscaped. Published survey (25") revised (B8).
