Summary

Large early nineteenth century timber-framed barn at Millend Farm. Situated 30 metres to the north-west of Mill End Farmhouse. It has a weatherboarded timber-frame with a flint and brick plinth amd a plain tiled roof, half hipped at the left end.

Description

Grade II. Barn. Early C19. Timber frame and weatherboard, flint and brick plinth, plain tile roof with half hip at left end. Approximately 7-8 bays. Gabled projecting cart entry to 3rd bay, with cart doors opposite. 3 lean-to weatherboarded loose-boxes infront of right bays. Trusses have raking posts to single purlins, and curved braces to tie-beams. Included for group value (B2).
BARN I VERY LARGE. 2 THRESHING FLOORS. 30X6. 45M. BARN II SIMILAR TO I BUT ONLY 1 SET OF DOORS. ORIGINAL WOODEN THRESHING FLOOR. FURTHER DETAIL, PHOTOS (B1).
